Arizona
An example of a University Center is the Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University (NAU) partnership. Among the nine bachelor degree program offered by NAU at the Yuma campus of Arizona Western College are bachelor of science degrees in elementary education and secondary education. Although the main campus of NAU is located in Flagstaff, full-time NAU faculty, student service personnel, and a dean are hired to work at the Yuma campus and operate a number of programs fully integrated with the community college’s associate degree programs.

Georgia
The Brunswick Center at Coastal Georgia Community College is a consortium with Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Authorized by the Board of Regents of the University System in Georgia since 1986, the university center offers bachelors of science degree programs in early elementary and middle school education. The programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Graduates are certified to teach preschool through fifth grade. The 120 hour curriculum, designed to integrate field experiences throughout major courses, consists of core curriculum requirements and professional courses, including: twenty-seven hours of related field courses, 50 hours of major courses including a 15-week student teaching experience, plus three hours of physical education.

Michigan
The Macomb Community College University Center began in 1991 and partners with nine universities in the state to increase access to a variety of bachelor and master degree programs. One partnership with Wayne State University offers baccalaureates in elementary education and in secondary education. Elementary education students can complete their full program through the university center partnership, while secondary education students may need to complete some courses at the main campus of Wayne State. The Wayne State partnership also offers post-baccalaureate coursework for a secondary education certification and a masters of education degree in educational leadership.

South Carolina
Greenville Technical College is a community college that offers many certificates and associate degrees, and also serves as the base for the University Center of Greenville. Since 1987 a consortium of seven four-year colleges and universities have cooperated with Greenville Tech to meet the community needs for both lower-division and upper-division education opportunities. The University Center is a mini-campus that provides all the necessary instructional and student-support services and courses are taught by faculty from the participating colleges and universities. The consortium offers more than 500 courses in over 46 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including bachelor of arts degrees in early childhood education and elementary education offered through the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. Classes are offered during evening and weekend hours for the convenience of working adults. Day classes are also available for education students.
