"Transfer and Articulation: A Survey of State Practices" American Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
The American Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissio ns Officers, a volunteer association representing over 9,000 admissions professionals in the U.S., polled their memberships about transfer and articulation practices at their higher education institutions. The survey includes information from 22 states about the types of transfer issues normally addressed by state articulation and transfer policies.

"Transfer When You Least Expect It: The Transfer of Terminal Applied Associate Degree Students" by Barbara K. Townsend
This paper, originally presented at the 2001 conference for the Association for the Study of Higher Education, is a study of transfer students in a Missouri two-year institution who transferreed to 4-year institutions after completing a terminal associate's degree. Among the findings was that those transfer students with a terminal associate's degree were less apt to complete a baccalaureate degree than those who transferred with a transfer degree. "Following the Mobile Student: Can We Develop the Capacity for a Comprehensive Database to Assess Student Progression?" by Peter T. Ewell, Paula R. Schild, and Karen Paulson, National Center for Higher Education Management Systems
This Lumina Foundation research report argues for state databases that can trace students across institutions in order to better track transfer, articulation, an d graduation rates.

"Access to the Baccalaureate: Research Synopsis"
The American Association of Community Colleges and The American Association of State Universitie are partnering in an initiative funded by the Lumina Foundation to increase student access to baccalaureate degrees. This report summarizers findings of a survey commissioned for a conference launching the initiative. Among the survey findings include obstacles to transfer and baccalaureate attainment and some initiatives aimed at alleviating these obstacles.
