Welcome to the Center for Community College Policy, based at the Education Commission of the States in Denver, Colorado. The Center has been created to support the creation of public policy that encourages the development of effective and innovative community colleges across the United States.

Community colleges are pivotal in meeting our nation's expanding needs for postsecondary education and access to advanced training and lifelong learning opportunities. State policymakers are looking to the colleges to provide access to increasing numbers of students, retraining for displaced workers and those leaving the welfare rolls, support for K-12 reform efforts and leadership in state and community economic development efforts.

This brand new toolkit is designed to help policymakers increase community colleges’ involvement in teacher preparation.
